Earlier this month LeagueApps held it’s first ever LeagueApps Partner Day in our NYC Office. It was awesome!

The purpose of LeagueApps Partner Day is to get a room full of LeagueApps partners together so that we can share what is new at LeagueApps. We also want to learn more about how our partners are using LeagueApps to help organize, manage and enhance their sports programs. It’s a great opportunity for our partners to meet each other, share best practices and grow their own business networks.

When we originally sent out the invite to some of our LeagueApps partners in the area we were not even sure if there would be interest for this kind of event. The response though was phenomenal. We filled up the room quickly and even needed to develop a wait list (which we’ll use for future Partner Days).

Members of eight different sports organizations attended the event. Many of the partners trekked in a nasty rainstorm to make it into NYC. The group included Jersey Club Sports, Play More Sports, Restaurant Sports Club, BAM Social Sports and Philadelphia Sports Network. Joe and Sue of Game On! Sports in Buffalo traveled the furthest and were the only people to fly in for the event! The always chipper Bobby D. from Delaware Sports League managed to switch his schedule around to make it last minute! Cindy from DC Social Sports drove from DC to NYC in Friday traffic! We were honored to have all of our partners make the time in their busy, hectic schedules to attend.

The agenda for Partner Day included the following sessions:

  • Club Introductions
  • Support Process & Help Site Overview (Led by Asaf)
  • New Product Release Details (Asaf)
  • LeagueApps Hacks & Tricks (Ess)
  • Product Roadmap Methodology and Overview (Steve)
  • 1-on-1 sessions with the partner management team

Here is a video of Steve Parker, LeagueApps Chief Product Officer, discussing the product roadmap and themes to the group.

The plan was to head out to Citi Field to see the Mets but Mother Nature got in the way. It was interesting for the LeagueApps team to see in real time how each partner deals with inclement weather and how it effects their organization. We think there is even more the LeagueApps platform can do to help there.

As a consolation we headed down to PS 450 to make sure we got to experience some of the social aspects of sports leagues. But first we had our prestigious trophy ceremony and iPad Mini raffle (won by Play More Sports). It was a blast hanging out with our partners and letting loose after a full day of meetings.

Most importantly, we took away some really neat lessons form our first LeagueApps Partner Day. These include:

Transparency – We’re learning that the more we are able to share with our partners the more they appreciate being informed and better understand LeagueApps processes. Often times, our partners offer their help beyond what we ever expected. Partner Day is a perfect example of this!

Communication – As we improve the support process we’re learning that communication is the key to providing our partners with a positive experience. We might not always have the answers right away, but we realize that is ok if we properly explain that to our partners in the right way. It seems like the more we communicate the better service we are able to provide.

New Features – All of our partners have different needs but we kept on hearing common themes about what enhancements would be most helpful and worthwhile. This is great feedback and certainly influences our product roadmap.

LeagueApps Network – We’re starting to recognize there is an opportunity to help connect sports organizers together in positive ways. Actually, our partners (many of them at Partner Day) helped us understand this by creating a Facebook group to discuss LeagueApps. We’re still sorting out how this can be more valuable to our partners in ways that keeps everyone comfortable. Do let us know if you’d like to join the Facebook Group!

We’re now in the process of planning more LeagueApps Partner Days in both our NYC and DC offices. Let us know if you’re interested to attend and we’ll be sure to invite you to our LeagueApps Partner Day!
